Presentation of the "Museum without Visitors": The Central Collecting Point Munich, 1945-1949.

The Harvard Club of Munich is proud to invite its members to a presentation by Prof. Dr. Iris Lauterbach (www.zikg.eu/personen/ilauterbach) on the "Museum without Visitors": The Central Collecting Point Munich, 1945-1949.

The lecture deals with the history of the Central Collecting Point in Munich, an institution of the American military government for Bavaria. The Collecting Point carried out the return of Nazi looted art to its rightful owners after the end of World War II. The exhibition deals with political and legal interests and competitions, the translocated artworks themselves, and the personalities involved, whose professional competencies and political attitudes competed or harmonized with each other.

An invitation to this event, including the information on how to register, will be sent to the members of the Harvard Club of Munich several weeks prior to the event. Questions related to the event can be sent to the Harvard Club of Munich Program Team at info@muenchen.harvard-club.de.
