Lunch Discussion with Sigmar Gabriel
The Harvard Club of Munich is pleased to invite its members to another exciting event, this time an extended lunch with Former Vice-Chancellor and Secretary of State, Sigmar Gabriel.
Sigmar Gabriel has a long political career in which he held many high-ranking offices, incl. Prime Minister of the State of Lower Saxony, Secretary of State, and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. After his active political career, he was very interested in US politics and especially of the rise of Donald Trump in 2016. He toured the United States to better understand the reasons for his rise to become the 45th president of the United States. In 2018 he held a series of lectures at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard University. Today, he serves as chairman of the Atlantik-Brücke.
Mr. Gabriel will speak about the implications for Europe and Germany especially of the 2024 US Elections six days earlier. Due to his expertise, he will be able to present a unique analysis of this election.
His talk will be followed by a reception with lunch.
